Serangoon/ Hougang URA Master Plan and Transformations

Development of the URA Master Plan for the North-East Region will have a healthy impact on Chuan Park since it is going to further improve connectivity, create new recreational opportunities and enhanced amenities.
Three keys areas that will positively impact residents at Chuan Park include:

1. Improve connectivity with new rail lines and cycling network
With the completion of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) and Cross Island Line (CRL), the region will be served by 5 MRT lines by 2035. New Integrated Transport Hubs will also provide seamless inter-modal transfers and enhance accessibility to amenities. Expansion of cycling networks in the North-East region will also take place progressively over the next decade.

2. New recreational spaces
Residents will be able to access the wealth of greenery and waterways in the region more easily with new park connectors. Waterways at Serangoon Reservoir, Punggol Reservoir and My Waterway@Punggol will be transformed into active spaces for water activities. The establishment of the new Outward Bound Singapore @ Coney Island will also create more outdoor fun in the precinct.

3. New amenities to towns vibrant
A number of new community amenities being developed at Buangkok, Punggol and Fernvale featuring new hawker centres, an integrated community hub with a regional library and a bus interchange will offer residents across all generation greater convenience.
